About our winery:

Located in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley, at the North-eastern tip of New Zealand’s South Island, as the country’s largest family-owned vineyard, Seaview stretches from the foothills of the striking Kaikoura Ranges to the undulating downs overlooking the Cook Strait. Woven through with the alluvial deposits of the Awatere River and the up-thrust soils from an active fault line, Nature herself has defined our uniquely mineral-rich and loessy terroir. With its characteristic strong winds, low rainfall, high sunshine and cool nights, many doubted Peter Yealands in his ‘can do’ determination to transform the rugged terrain of New Zealand’s most coastal vineyard into a thriving sustainable family business. However, leading the sculpting of the landscape himself, not only has Peter created the world’s first carboNZeroCertTM winery from inception, but also discovered the most exciting range of authentic flavour profiles from the rolling contours. Our Yealands Estate Single Block S1 Sauvignon Blanc 2011 being named as the Best Sauvignon Blanc In The World at the 2012 London International Wine Challenge was a huge celebration.Peter’s original vision continues to inspire us to think boldly and tread lightly at Seaview. Our 25 specially-designed wetlands, set amongst 200,000 planted native trees and flaxes, clearly signal the Yealands Family Wines philosophy of sustainability as a way of life. An ever-increasing range of birds now choose to live here, including the rare Royal Spoonbill. Innovative biodiversity sits comfortably alongside cutting-edge technology, as we continually pursue our goal of becoming the world’s most sustainable wine producer.

Three things to love about us:

- First winery in the world to be carboNZero Cert TM since inception.- Produce Award-Winning Wines, with a collection of 10 trophies and 600+ awards since our launch in 2008.- Largest privately owned vineyard in New Zealand.

What makes us unique:

Thinking differently is what we do at Yealands. Crafting award-winning wines in harmony with nature has seen us lead the world in sustainable winegrowing. But most importantly, it means great tasting wines which don’t cost the earth. Think Boldly, Tread Lightly and Never Say it Can’t be Done.– Peter Yealands
