About our winery:
Bodegas Valdelana is located in the town of Elciego, midway between Logroño and Vitoria, in the region known as Rioja Alavesa. This region is bounded by the Ebro River and the Sierra de Cantabria.
We have been making wine for 16 generations. We are currently present in over 40 countries with the following brands of wine: Familia Valdelana, Ladron de Guevara, AGNVS, Duquesa de la Victoria, Eder and CENTVM VITIS.
Three things to love about us:
- Our wine springs from my soul,
mirror of my personality.
- Our museum: The life is full of small pleasures:
wine, friendship, art, culture... the sum
of which contributes to our life be more
pleasant. Our purpose is that you enjoy
the visit as much as we have done creating
it. Come and discover a 500-year old Bodega
with a beautiful story.
- Our Accomodation: We invite you to enjoy staying in a
Bodega from XV Century. All pleasure is
volatile and brief but if it is very persistent,
it will become an emotion... a feeling.
What makes us unique:
In our cut-stone cellars dating from 15th century, you will find our Ethnographic Museum which contains remains of the different civilizations and cultures that have lived in Rioja Alavesa since prehistory.
Into the heart of the Bodega, we will visit our Wine Museum. Thanks to a complete photograph exhibition we will make a wine trip since how the land is prepared right up to the final product.
You will also discover our Chapel dating from 1583, our tasting room with an underground never-ending vineyard and the tunnel of the senses. Finally, we will taste some of our wines.

To taste is to subject a wine to our 5 senses to reach a final conclusion. It is not necessary to be an expert; we can help you to understand the wine. The aim of our course is to teach the correct methodology to taste a wine in a simple manner. During the course, you will learn tasting vocabulary and some wine-care tips. We will explain you the different steps for tasting. You will learn to distinguish different types of wine, production methods and the main differences between the oaks used to age a wine. The wine tasting course includes 5 wines made with different grapes from Rioja Denomination.
