About our winery:
We are an organic boutique winery located at Kennedy Point, Waiheke Island surrounded by 400 year old pohutukawa trees (the New Zealand Christmas tree). Our tasting room is open daily in summer from 11am to 3pm for tastings, platters and wine sales. You can enjoy a French inspired platter on our veranda under the shade of these giant trees. It's like being in the best tree hut in the world.
Three things to love about us:
We have guest houses on the property as well so you can spend a few days in the perfect peace of an island vineyard.
Our wines are mostly reds from the island, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot as well as Cuvee Eve our gorgeous Chardonnay.
We also have a selection of wines from our brother-from-another-mother vineyard, Carrick Wines in Central Otago.
What makes us unique:
We care for our beautiful vineyard and use biodynamic principals to keep the land healthy. Our highland cows contribute as only they can. The wines use wild yeast brought in from the vineyard by the grapes each harvest. We don't use finings at all. Our winemaker crafts beautiful natural wines from superb fruit grown on our stunning vineyard.
Our proudest achievement is our Syrah which won trophies at the 2009 International wine challenge in London for Best Syrah in the world! Also best New Zealand red, best New Zealand Syrah and best Auckland Syrah.
We have won numerous medals since for both our wines and our olive oils but that trophy makes us so proud.
