Which Winery

by Jyll Jara, WSET II

Easter Sunday is a special time to celebrate with family and friends. Visions of uncomfortable children dressed in their Sunday best, baskets filled with vibrant colored eggs & chocolate bunnies with the ears nibbled off, and wine fueled adult Easter Egg hunts (possibly this type of hunt is specific only to my past celebrations). Easter also marks the end of Lent, and many are ready to indulge in the treats they have so dedicatedly given up. While coloring all of those Easter Eggs, be sure to set some aside for some amazing deviled egg appetizers.

The Easter meal should be festive and easy, beginning with some light appetizers paired with some palate quenching, acid inspired dry wines. This provides enough to fuel your guests for the Easter egg hunt, however not weigh them down before the unveiling of the Ham. Head into lighter reds to pair with the mains; and be sure to save room to finish off that chocolate Easter Bunny.
